Fall Coffee Joy with Brutus Monroe

Hello Brutus Monroe fans!  Since we're all on a coffee theme this week I decided to make a coffee themed card!  I used a variety of products carried at www.Brutus Monroe.com.  Let me show you how I made my card!

I stamped out my images using the Cozy Coffee Stamp Set and the Autumn Essential
Stamp Set onto Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White card stock with Raven Detail
ink.  I chose my paper from the Autumn Foliage Paper Pad and also decided to use
one of the new Felt Doilies in Wheat.  I chose to color my images using Copic
markers.  After coloring them I fussy cut them out (not realizing there's a cut file!).

Copic colors used:

Leaves & Stems:  BG11, BG93, BG96  Glaze:  G00
White Pumpkin:  W1, W2, BG93
Orange Pumpkin:  Y38, YR16, YR18
Coffee Cup:  E21, E31, E33  Lid:  W1
Buttons:  E31, E33, E35, E37
Sweater:  Y11, Y21, Y17

I prepared a top folding A2 size card base from Whitewash card stock.  I cut my
patterned paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered it to the base.  Before adhering the doily
I trimmed off about 3/8" off the left side and adhered that down to the center left
of my card.  I only put glue on the solid middle part.  The felt is nice and sturdy
and I knew it would be ok not to glue it down.

Next I stamped my sentiment on Whitewash card stock using the new Collab stamp set
Simple Strips - Crafty!  This is a crafty collab with Taylored Expressions and Brutus Monroe.  If
you are not familiar with these sets - there are 18 sentiments!  One stamp - one die!  So
handy!  And Taylored Expressions now sells a container with trays that holds all the
sentiments!
I cut a piece of card stock 4 3/4" x 6".  That fits exactly into my Mini Misty.  The stamp
also fits exactly into it!  I stamped with Raven Detail Ink.

The black squares on either side are so there to line up the die.  After die cutting the
sentiments I put them away in my handy container and kept out the one I wanted to use.
I arranged my images in the center of the doily.  I did not use foam tape, but just adhered
everything flat.  I used a liquid glue for this.  After coloring in the little heart on the
sentiment I adhered it across the bottom of the doily and just need a bit of foam tape
on the right side.  And my project was done!

This was so much fun to make!  So many products from Brutus Monroe!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope I've inspired you
to create your own Autumn Coffee card!

Mid-Month Inspiration with Jan's Digistamps Challenge

Hello everyone!  Time for some mid-month inspiration for

Jan's Digistamps Challenges Blog!

This is a beautiful stamp set and I love Jan's take on it!  Let me show you
how I made my card!
I started by printing out my image onto Neenah 80lb. Classic Crest Solar
White card stock.  I also printed out a sentiment but did use it.
I decided to color my image with Copic markers and I had already chosen my
background paper so I had a color palette in mind.

I kept the coloring pretty simple.

Copic markers used:

Leaves:  YG91, G21, G85, G94
Branches:  E15, E59
Pears:  Y21, Y35, Y38, Y28, R02
Vase:  BG70, BG72, E08, E15

I chose a patterned piece of paper from the Falling Leaves Paper Pad from
Unity Stamp Company.  I trimmed it down to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and adhered it
to a standard white top folding A2 size card base.
I die cut my colored panel with a dotted rectangle die that measures
3 1/2" x 4 3/4" and adhered it flat to the card center.  I though that this might
make a good sympathy card so I didn't embellish it or put a sentiment on it.
I think it just makes a nice soft statement.

I hope you found some inspiration in today's tutorial.  Find this stamp
set and 2 other new stamps sets in Jan's Shop

Fall Leaves

Hello everyone!  It's New Release Day at:

This is such a fabulous new release!  I love making fall cards and this digistamp set
has so many possibilities!
I decided to really work with my patterned for this design.  This paper pad comes from
Unity Stamp Company and it's gorgeous!  Yellow is not my favorite color, but this
paper is so yummy!!!!!!  I first composed my design in my computer and printed it
out onto a piece of the patterned paper by taping it onto a sheet of copy paper that
had the design printed on it, then running it through my printer again.

This is a coated paper and my printer is inkjet.  I actually let it sit overnight before
I started coloring, but I think you could hit it with a heat tool and it would help.
Even so, in my Copic coloring I was very careful with the outline...particularly with
light colors as they contain more blender.

Copic colors used:
Yellow: Y06, Y08, Y17, Y38
Brown:  E33, E35
Red:  R02, R14, R35
Orange:  YR15, YR07, YR16

I did not do any vigorous blending.  The ink sits on top of this paper and
it blended quite easily.

I made my card base out of some plain yellow card stock.  I made an A2 size
card base and covered it with another piece of the patterned paper leaving
1/8" on the top and bottom of the card base.  So that piece measured
4" x 5 1/2".  Next I trimmed down my printed and colored piece and that
measured 3 1/4" x 5 1/2".

For trimmings, I wanted them to be subtle so I used copper peel-offs
on the top and bottom of the printed focal piece.  I went over the veins in
the leaves with an orange glitter gel pen and used tiny orange triangle
bits instead of traditional sequins.  And that finished my card!

I hope you enjoyed today's project!  I just love the brilliance of fall
colors!  This design would look awesome on a slimline card!
