Mason Jar Bouquet with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello everyone!  Today I'm sharing my last project for the month
Guest Designing for

Whew!  February went by in a flash!  So, I'm bringing you some spring
cheer with my card today!  I chose everything ahead of time with this
card project.  I made an A2 size top folding white card base, adhered a
piece of double sided patterned paper to the front 1/8" smaller than the
base.  I embossed an olive color panel for the front that measures
3 1/2" x 4 3/4" and from the patterned paper I cut 2 strips - one is about
an inch or more and the other about 3/4" wide.  I tore the ends of these
2 strips diagonally.  I heat embossed my image and my
sentiment with gold embossing powder onto watercolor paper.

My plan was to watercolor my floral image to match the colors in
the patterned paper.

I put a wash of color on my elements of the image.  I used a watercolor
set that contained a nice rainbow of colors.

My set did not contain orange or purple so I mixed colors where I was
lacking.  I bumped up the color with some shading using a darker, more
concentrated version of the colors.  After everything was painted and
dried, I fussy cut both the image and the sentiment.

I foam taped my mason jar image and then put the sentiment half over the jar
and one half hanging off.  On the part that hangs off I  added the same
same foam tape so it would be level with my jar.  I added some glittery
enamel dots that really looked nice against the colors and that
finished my card!

I hope I've given you a month of inspiration as we head into
spring!  You can find this stamp set and many more as well

Hoppy Spring with Kate Hadfield Designs

Hello everyone!  A little more spring inspiration coming at you today using
products from

Nothing says spring like flowers, frogs and sunny days!  Let me show you
how I made this card.  I composed my card panel in the computer and
printed it out onto white card stock.  I flipped, angled and layered the
flowers for more variation - one of wonderful things you can do with
digital stamps!  I also die cut the panel at this point.

Although I didn't know what direction I would be headed in to complete
my card, I find that die cutting my panel helps me to visualize the
final card and it's just easier to maneuver.  The die I used was for a
full 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card panel.  I also die cut the sentiment using
a banner die from my stash.

I started my coloring...not getting overly fussy and keeping the colors
bright and happy!

This images are fairly simple so coloring was very easy.

Copic colors used:  YG00, YG11, YG23, YG17, Y11, Y15, Y17, Y02,
C1, C3, C5, B000, BV000, G82, G94, G85, E93, E71, E95, E81 and E85.
I was still unsure at this point what I was going to do for the background so
I added glitter glue to the bumble bee wings and yellow body parts, the
sun's rays, the centers of the flowers, the spots on the frog and the shell
of the snail.  I decided to do soft ink blending with a cloud stencil for
the sky and just some green around the bottom.

I backed the sentiment banner with a piece of soft yellow glitter paper.
I liked how the yellow looked so much, I cut down the panel so it was
4" x 5 1/4" and placed it on my card base that I had covered with the
yellow glitter card stock.  I added some tiny butterfly sequins around the
flowers and that finished my card!

I hope this has inspired you to make a happy card as spring is right
around the corner!  Find this stamp set and many others at

Bee Sweet Stamp Set with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello everyone!  I'm back with another project using stamps from

I love anything bee themed and this stamp set is so cute!  There are
13 stamps in this set to choose from!  There are also coordinating
dies available. Let me show you how I created my card.
I started by stamping my images onto a piece of A2 size Kraft
card stock.

I die cut my panel with a scalloped rectangle die from my stash.  I
used the Kraft card stock because I wanted to use my colored pencils.  I
used a hybrid black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I started with lots of light layers of pencil, in order to build up
my color.  I used my Faber-Castel Polychromos colored pencils.
Colors used:
Naples Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Dark Chrome Yellow, Cold Grey IV,
Cold Grey II, Cold Grey V, Cadmiium Yellow, Black, Brown
Ochre, Burnt Umber, Light Yellow Ochre, Light Green, Permanent
Green, Leaf, Chromium Oxide Green, Green
It wasn't until all the coloring was done that I realized my sentiment
was crooked!  ðŸ˜±

Not to worry, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment again and then used
a stitched circle die and foam taped it over the crooked one.  Then I chose my
background paper and prepared an A2 size top folding white notecard base.
I used a white acrylic heart on the sentiment, Stickles on the bee wings and
some yellow gem stones around the hive!  And that finished my card.

I love how this card looks!  And I only used 4 of the stamps...imagine what you
can do with others!  You can find this stamp set along with the dies and

Gold Finch Collage with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello everyone!  A springtime card for you today using products from

I was really drawn to this digital stamp.  I love vintage vibes and this one
is so gorgeous!  I had a little hiccup along the way and I'll show you how I
fixed it!  I started by sizing my image in my computer and printing it out onto
white card stock.

My intent was to color this with my Copic markers.  So I colored the
gold finch first and then the background.

This did not work for me on so many levels.  So I decided to cut the
gold finch out and proceed from there.  I fussy cut it out - minus the
feet - and then went around the edges with a black marker.

Next I printed out the image onto some paper from my stash that
actually looks like old crinkled paper.  I used various shades of yellow
to color the bird and a little bit of orange for the beak.  To make the eye
stand out, I went around it with a white gel pen, then made the black
pupil bigger so you could barely see the white pen.  I added a little
white to the beak as well.

I die cut this image with an A2 size die from my stash.  Then I inked around
the edges with brown ink.  I did a tiny bit of coloring to make the branch
stand out and I colored the feet.  I stamped a sentiment from the Mason Jar
Bouquet Stamp Set and it didn't look good.  So, I took a scrap of the
background paper, stamped it again, trimmed it out, went around the edge
with a black marker, glued it flat to the surface and adhered some nail head
sequins to each corner.  I adhered this to a Kraft colored A2 size card base
and my card was done!

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial.  It is really a quick way to make
a card in a hurry!  You can find this digital set and the sentiment set
and so many more stamp sets - both photopolymer and digital at

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sparkle & Shine with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello everyone!  Today I'm bringing you another card using products from

You know how sometimes you're making a card and you know how you want
it to look, but everything seems to be going sideways as you are making it?
Yeah...that's what happened with this card!  Let me show you!  ðŸ˜…

So I cut a standard letter size piece of white card stock in half so each piece
was 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  I took one one of that and scored each end at 2 1/8".
Then I folded it so it created a gatefold card that still fits into an
A2 size envelope.  I also cut a label with a die from my stash.  This is part of
a set of nesting dies - of which I will be using more than one size.
Next I used a panel of 140lb cold press watercolor paper taped to a piece
of hardboard.  I first sprayed this with water - not a lot to start and then
sprinkled on shimmer watercolor powders.

I used my fan brush to pick up the powders and sprinkle them on.  I sprayed
more water to help the pigment move and used my fan brush where the
pigments were not moving enough on their own.  I tilted the board and held
a piece of paper towel to absorb some of the excess water.  I let that dry for
a little bit - but not completely.  Then I added some Micah spray.

Once the Micah spray had dried a bit, I sprayed it with a white pearl
spray...I was trying not to get everything on my desk sprayed as well,
as a result I have a swath of pearl spray on my studio floor!  Once
this spray had dried a bit, I then added some iridescent spray.  This
is the panel dry.  I needed to get the 2 side panels for the front and
the smaller label out of this paper.  I couldn't cut the paper length-
wise, because there would not have been enough room for the label.
So I ended up cutting it the other way, which meant the 2 main
panels were a bit short.

So, although I had not planned on it, I could add some snow
banks along the bottom.  But first I wanted to heat emboss the
snow flakes from the Sparkle and Shine stamp set on the
sides and the sentiment and bits of the snowflakes on the label.

I heat embossed and put one layer of white glitter stock on the
bottoms of the side panels and I sprayed the white label background
die cut with the iridescent spray.  I think because I had so
many textures with the blue, the embossing ended up looking
rather distressed.  And, once the embossing was done, I ended up
spilling the entire container of embossing powder onto my lap!
This was not just white embossing powder - that would have been
too easy, right?  It was sparkle embossing powder, so I had the
glitter element to contend with. 😱   I have less than a quarter of an
inch left of the embossing powder. 😞

Did you notice that there are 3 layers of glitter stock to make the snow
banks?  That's because I measured wrong twice!!!!!  It doesn't look
horrible, in fact, I like the layered texture that the 3 layers give.  I
adhered my layered label onto the left half of the card.  Then I added
some snowflake sequins and nail gems for extra sparkle.  And
that finished my card!

I was pleased with how this card turned out - despite all the mishaps
along the way!!!  You can find this stamp set along with many others at

I hope I've inspired you to create something beautiful - even with all
the mishaps!  ðŸ˜…  For the rest of the month I'll be creating cards with
more of a springtime vibe!

Snowman Soup with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello everyone!  I have a special project today.  For the month of
February I will be Guest Designing for

I've started out with a winter project using the Hot Cocoa Mug digital
stamp and Hot Cocoa Sentiments digital stamp.  Both are so cute
to create with!
I started by composing and printing my design and sentiment onto
smooth white card stock.

I knew I wanted to color my image with Copic markers but I really didn't have
a clear color palette idea.  So, I colored the image with various markers.

Copic colors used:  B000, B00, B02, V01, V04, V05, RV10,
E50, E51, E71, E77, E43,G82, G85, G97,
YR15, YR16, YR07
I fussy cut my image after coloring and I fussy cut the sentiment.

These were the components for my card.  I blended white pigment ink onto the
bottom of the snowflake paper and didn't like it.  I also had issues with the heart
that I placed on the snowman - I didn't like the color.  I added some white
glitter paper to the bottom of the snowflake paper to resemble snow.  I also
replaced the heart on the snowman with a holographic embellishment heart.
I adhered the "snow" across the bottom of the card flat.  I popped up the
snowman and sentiment with foam squares.  My last bit of embellishment was
tiny holo hearts for steam coming out of the cocoa!

I hope you've enjoyed today's project.  You can find these digital stamps
and photopolymer stamp set at

Stay tuned for more inspo!  I have another 5 projects coming your way
this month!
