Let's Watch the Leaves ft. Kate Hadfield Designs

 

 

Hello everyone!  Fall is barely hanging on as temperatures start to

drop.  Still time to make fall cards, though!  Today I'll be showing you

how to make this cute card project using products from

Kate Hadfield Designs

 Fantabulous Fall stamp set 

 Animal Pals –Foxes stamp set

 This is what I call an  “off the edge” card.  I don’t think I’ve ever made one of 

these types of cards, although the technique has been around for a while.

Let me show you how I made it!

 

 

Since I needed to fold the card on the left side, I had to be careful as

to where my elements were placed on the card.  I placed them horizontally

at the bottom.  This insured that I would have enough room to

to actually cut off part of my card and it would be positioned correctly

on the front.

 

 

I did choose my background paper before starting to color.  I decided

to use my Prisma Color Pencils so that no color could bleed through

like Copics would cause and because I hadn’t made a card using

them in a while!  I used light layers to gradually build up my color.

 

 

You can see my pencil line as to where I would cut the card.  I just used

scissors to trim this out and around the fox and squirrel I used a

black marker after the cutting was done.  

 

 

I cut a strip of the plaid

paper that was 1 ¾” wide and used a scalloped edge die on 

the left side for the inside of my card.  I stamped a sentiment that 

I had in my stash and then adhered tiny leaf sequins around 

my image.  I also used a white gel pen for a few highlights.  And

that finished my card project!

Bee Sweet Stamp Set with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

 

Hello everyone!  I'm back with another project using stamps from

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Bee Sweet Stamp Set

I love anything bee themed and this stamp set is so cute!  There are

13 stamps in this set to choose from!  There are also coordinating

dies available. Let me show you how I created my card.

I started by stamping my images onto a piece of A2 size Kraft

card stock.

I die cut my panel with a scalloped rectangle die from my stash.  I

used the Kraft card stock because I wanted to use my colored pencils.  I 

used a hybrid black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I started with lots of light layers of pencil, in order to build up

my color.  I used my Faber-Castel Polychromos colored pencils.

Colors used:

Naples Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Dark Chrome Yellow, Cold Grey IV,

Cold Grey II, Cold Grey V, Cadmiium Yellow, Black, Brown

Ochre, Burnt Umber, Light Yellow Ochre, Light Green, Permanent

Green, Leaf, Chromium Oxide Green, Green

It wasn't until all the coloring was done that I realized my sentiment

was crooked!  😱

Not to worry, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment again and then used

a stitched circle die and foam taped it over the crooked one.  Then I chose my

background paper and prepared an A2 size top folding white notecard base.

I used a white acrylic heart on the sentiment, Stickles on the bee wings and

some yellow gem stones around the hive!  And that finished my card.

I love how this card looks!  And I only used 4 of the stamps...imagine what you
