All Wrapped Up with Brutus Monroe

 

Hello everyone!  Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!  Today

I'm sharing a fun card made with products from

Brutus Monroe

All Wrapped Up Stencil

Chroma Glaze

I have 2 nieces who just got engaged and I was thinking of them when I

made this card!  Let me show you how I did it!

I first did my stenciling on a piece of 6" x 6" white card stock.  I used a

finger dauber with the Pink Chroma Glaze.  By doing it that way, a 

thinner amount of  the glaze gets deposited on the paper.  

I did a couple of the bows as well but decided to do a few more on a

separate piece of card stock.  I put these off to the side to dry.  Next I

cut a piece of white card stock to 4" x 5 1/4".  I embossed that with an

embossing folder and then splattered it with gold watercolor.

When my stenciled panels were dry I cut each package so I would have

3 presents.  I added a bit of work with a black pen, just some dots, etc.

I trimmed out the bow with the ribbons and adhered them on top of the 

gift.  I foam mounted these onto squares of gold card stock that I cut just

1/8" bigger.

I stamped and heat embossed with Gilded Embossing powder a sentiment

from my stash.  Then I die cut it with a banner die.

I next took my embossed background panel and wrapped gold thread around

 the bottom of it.  Then I backed it with gold card stock and adhered it to

the card base.  I adhered my sentiment on at this time as well.

I adhered 2 of my gifts flat to the surface and then popped up the middle one

on foam tape where it didn't overlap the other two.  I added some gold

foil pearls and that finished my card!

This card was fun to make and I enjoyed working with all of the

STAMPtember with Brutus Monroe

 

Hello everyone!  It's STAMPtember time again!  This is something

that we, as cardmakers, look forward to every year.  And this year

we have a beautiful stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and

Brutus Monroe

featuring

Sweet Seasonal Apples

I love caramel apples so I had to make a card with this stamp!

Let me show you how I made my it!

I first stamped out my images separately with Raven Detail Ink.

These images were relatively easy to color with Copic markers.

Simple 2 to 3 color blends worked perfectly for these images.

Copic colors used:

C1, C2

YG11, YG03, YG23

YR23, YR24, E97

E51, E31, E33, E35, E37

I darkened up the caramel with the E97.

...and it's always good to have help from the peanut gallery!

I fussy cut these images and went around the edges with a black pen.

I cut an A2 size top folding card base from Lunchbag card stock. I

used a piece of plaid paper from the Playful Plaid Paper Pad.  I cut

3 strips about 1 5/8" wide.

I also cut a panel from Cabbage card stock 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and

embossed it using a plaid embossing folder.

I adhered the plaid strips leaving space in-between each piece.

I decided my green panel needed a bit of definition so I cut a piece

of Marsala card stock just slightly bigger than the green and panel and

adhered the two together.  The Marsala card stock mimics the darker

color stripes in the plaid.

I also decided the main card panel could use a bit of the Marsala

color so I cut 2 very narrow strips of it and adhered them in-between 

the plaid pieces.

I adhered my green panel onto the card base.  I really loved how

it looked!

I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Marsala card stock and heat

embossed it using Gilded Embossing Powder.  

I die cut it with a banner die not realizing that it would be too long

for it to fit across my card without hanging over the edges.  When I did

realize that, I snipped off each end and adhered it underneath each end

of the sentiment banner, making it look like it had folded ends.

I foam taped my main sentiment and my caramel apple image to

the panel for dimension.  I added a few cream color enamel dots

to it and also added a bit of highlighting with a white gel pen.

And my card was finished!
