Autumn Branches with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  The leaves where I live are just starting to turn as the
temps start to get cooler.  Today I'm bringing you more fall
inspiration with products from

True confession, I made a card prior to this one and it came out so awful
it could not be saved!  ðŸ˜ž  So, I went back to something a bit more
different and I love how it turns out.  Let me show you how I made my
card!  I first cut a piece of plaid paper from the Playful Plaid Paper
Collection and trimmed it to 4" x 5 1/4".  Using my Stick & Stamp Mat
I stenciled this piece using the Autumn Branches Stencil and Tangerine
Glitter Glaze.  This particular plaid is so pretty with the Tangerine Glitter!

You can see my Stick & Stamp Mat has seen cleaner days!  I keep one
especially for working with Glitter Glaze and other shiny stuff.  I have
another one for inks that clean up nicely.  ðŸ˜‰. While that was drying,
I stamped out my images from the Fall Florals Stamp Set.  I used
Chroma Mists to paint them.  I heat embossed them onto watercolor paper
using a brown pigment ink and clear embossing powder.  This was a
hot press watercolor paper so it's smooth and easy to cut.

For Chroma Mist colors I used:  Yellow Green, Candy Apple Red,
Tangerine Orange, Leaf Green, Yellow Green and Bumblebee
Yellow.  I used more than one color on each element.  When
these were dry, I fussy cut them.

I also took a Q-tip and made random dots around my wreath
with the Tangerine Glitter Glaze just as a fill in.
These didn't take long to dry. I heat embossed my sentiment from the Fall
Florals Stamp Set with a dark brown.   I made a top folding card base
from Whitewash Card Stock and added a orange panel that was 1/8"
smaller all around.  I adhered my now dried stenciled panel.

I foam taped one of the big maple leaves and the 2 Chinese lanterns onto
the lower left of the stenciled wreath.  Just using liquid glue I tucked in
the rest of the elements.  For a finishing touch, I used both gold and turquoise
confetti.  And that finished my card!

This card really came out sweet and I love the turquoise with all of
the yellow and orange...only in the autumn!!!!!  You may purchase

Be Happy Cutting Dies with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  Today's project is super cute, happy and sparkly!  I'll be
using products from

This shaker easel card was fun to make and I came up with a technique to really
customize your product!  Let me show you how I made my card!
I first started by die cutting my rainbow and bird out of white card stock and placing
them on my Stick & Stamp Mat.

I didn't have the colors I was looking for to do this project, so I took Fallen Snow
Glitter Glaze and mixed a bit of Chroma Mists into it for each color.  The Chroma
Mist colors that I used were: Pink, Yellow Orange, Yellow Green, Blue Violet,
Lilac Purple and Turquoise.

I pulled these off my mat, cleaned my mat and then let these pieces dry.  I also
die cut 3 of the sparkles using Sterling Elegant Essentials.  Once everything was
dry I mounted my rainbow strips onto the base - there is a die for that.  I also put
my bird together and used a black marker for the eye and legs.

 I made a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" white card base.  I
scored the front of the card in half to create my easel.  I made a panel of
what card stock for the upper half that was 4" x 2".  I inked blended in
a sky using Simon Hurley's breakup blue ink.

For the bottom half of the card - the shaker part - I cut the same
2" x 4", but also allowed for the rainbow someplace to sit.  I then
die cut the two little clouds that would become the shaker.  I
ink blended on this panel as well.  Next I die cut the bottom of
the rainbow on both sides to accommodate the shaker holes.

I put foam tape on the back of the panel but not the top of the rainbow part.  I
filled the cloud part with rainbow confetti and some other bits.

Next I adhered my rainbow.  I put an acetate strip behind the bird and attached
him to the rainbow.  I adhered my twinkle pieces and added some small silver
twinkle bits for added sparkle.  I also die cut a few clouds and used them on the
top portion along with more twinkle bits.
For the inside I cut another 4" x 4" panel and ink blended it the same as the
front pieces.  I die cut 3 of the shadow layers of the sentiment out of white
card stock.  I die cut the letters out of coordinating card stock to make a rainbow
when glued together.  I added Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze on top of the letters
to make them sparkle.

And that finished my card!

And that finished my card!  I hope you enjoyed this sparkly shaker card!  So
fun to create with all of these dies!  Find this set and more at

Beach Bum with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  I'm hoping all of you are enjoying great weather!  Today I am
sharing more beach vibes with

This giraffe stamp was just too cute not to use this time!  He looks totally ready to
hit the waves!  Let me show you how I made my card!  I first taped a panel of
140lb watercolor paper to my hardboard.  This measured bigger than an A2 size
panel so I could cut it down.

I used a 1/2" flat watercolor paintbrush and used water down Blue Aqua
Pigment for the sky.  The water was Blue and Green Aqua Pigments - not as watered
down.  In both the sky and water I brought the color to white.  I helped that
along by taking a tissue and absorbing the color very randomly.  My paper
with Aqua Pigment on it was not soaking wet, but damp enough so that the
tissue was able to absorb some of the color.  I did the same for the clouds
in the sky and sea foam.  For the sand I started with Brown, added yellow and then added
water.  Once this was all dry I trimmed this panel out to 3 3/4" x 5".
I stamped my giraffe image on Aqua Pigment Paper and put it on my
Stick & Stamp Mat along with the Pigment Palette.

I laid out my pigments and painted up my image.  I didn't do any shading
on my images...just straight painting.

I painted at least 2 coats on my images, letting them dry in-between.  Once
they were dry I fussy cut the image up to the outline and then ran a black marker
along the cut edges.

I added Glossy Accents to the sunglasses.  While waiting for that to dry, I
stamped my sentiment and birds onto the background.

I next ran a bit of the brown mix right up against the sea foam.  As I was
doing it I was thinking this shadowing makes the sand look more real.  And then
I thought, who am I trying to kid, it's a giraffe with sunglasses holding
a surfboard...LOL!  ðŸ˜‚  Once that was done I added some fine splatter to
the sand.  I used the brown just a bit darker for this.  The on the water, sea
foam and sand I added Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze.  Once that was dry I
popped up the panel onto an A2 size white top folding card base with a piece
of foam.  And then I added the giraffe with the surfboard also popped up
on foam.  And that finished my card!

This Beach Bum Stamp Set has been so fun to create with!  The images
are darling and your creative talents can just run away with this set!  Find

Beach Time with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  It's time to break out the beach themed cards and this one
is made out of products from

Brutus Monroe

This was sofun to make!  It's always so inspiring to make your own scene cards.
There's something about them that triggers our memories of time spent on
the beach!  Let me show you how I made my card.
I first cut an A2 size panel of white card stock.  I ink blended the sand,
water and where the sun would be.  I used Antique Linen for the sand,
Broken China for the water and Scattered Straw for the sun.  I was going for
soft edges and I didn't want the colors to butt up against each other.

I next stamped out my images onto Aqua Pigment paper.  I chose to stamp 3
each of the little bits and just one chair, towel and boat.

I chose to color my images with Copic Markers.  I went with soft
summer colors, although I did deepen the colors later.  Copic colors used:
R00, R02, R05, E31, E33, E35, RV000, RV10, BG 10, BG11,
Y21, R32, E21, Y00

When I fussy cut these images I cut away all of the ground underneath
the beach chair.
I heat embossed with Gilded Sparkle Embossing Powder the sun image from the

I then added my Glitter Glazes...I used a bit of Periwinkle on the water,
Alabaster on the sea foam, and then Fallen Snow on the sun, water,
sea foam and beach sand.

I cut my panel to 4" x 5 1/4" and mounted it onto a white A2 size top
folding card base with foam for a bit of dimension.
I added my sentiment which was also heat embossed with Gilded
Sparkle Embossing Powder and die cut.

Time to put all of the little elements on and build this beach scene!

After adding the shells I added more Glitter Glaze in Fallen Snow.  I
didn't add a lot, just a bit here and there.  I had an extra crab so I adhered
him to the inside of my card.  And that finished my beach card!

This card was fun to make...especially adding all of the little elements that
truly brought my card to life!  You can find the products that I used at

Vintage Tile with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  Today I get to share a new stencil technique with
you featuring products from

This was tons of fun to put together.  It was in experiment for me - I stenciled
my panel 3 times!  Let me show you how I made my card!
I first started by placing a panel of white card stock on my Stick & Stamp Mat.
I used Simon Hurley's breakup blue ink and the Delicate Floral Stencil.

This is such a pretty stencil on it's own.  Next I overlaid the Vintage Tile
Stencil and used Glitter Glaze in Periwinkle.

I was very careful about placement of this stencil.

This came out so pretty!  I love the Delicate Floral design in the background.
Once this Periwinkle Glitter Glaze was dry, I rotated my stencil and used
Alabaster Glitter Glaze to stencil again.

I had to peel off my panel each time I stenciled so I could clean off my Stick
& Stamp Mat.  Then I just set my panel aside to dry.  When t was dry I
cut it to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered it to a Blue Ribbon Card Stock panel that
was cut to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  I next moved onto my sentiment.  I used the
"Thanks" die set from Christopher's Sentiments dies.  I die cut the actual letter from
the Blue Ribbon Card Stock and the shadow layer from some very
white vellum and adhered the 2 together.

I felt I needed a sub-focal so using Icicle Embossing Powder, I used one of
the butterflies from the Full Bloom Stamp Set and die cut it with the
coordinating dies.  I stamped the butterfly, heat embossed it and then ink
blended over it with the breakup blue ink.

I die cut the butterfly and then added Periwinkle Glitter Glaze for
some sparkle.

I adhered my prepared panel onto an A2 size white card base.  I adhered
my sentiment piece flat to the card.

I adhered my butterfly above the sentiment on the right.  As a last
finishing touch I added some iridescent confetti and
my project was finished!

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial.  It was fun to see what would happen
when stenciling the same panel 3 times!  I love the effect!  You can purchase the
products I used at

Blanket of Blooms with Brutus Monroe

Hello everyone!  Today I'm sharing a project with new products from

I also used the new Stick & Stamp Mat for my stenciling.  The Glitter
Glaze I'm using today is Fallen Snow.  This is definitely my favorite
Glitter Glaze because it's transparent.  That means when it dries there is
a lovely sparkly iridescent shimmer that is left that lays over any color
that's underneath it.
Let me show you how I made my card!  I started with a die cut panel
of Buttercream Card Stock using a smaller rectangle die.

I laid that on my Stick & Stamp Mat and then positioned the stencil
over it making sure the sides were sticking down securely.

Using pink, yellow and green inks from Simon Hurley's line and a small blending brush,
I applied my ink to the stencil.  It didn't slip at all and stayed securely in place while I
was stenciling.

With the stencil still in place I applied my Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze.

Right after the application of the Glitter Glaze I removed my stencil and washed
it.  I removed my panel from the Stick & Stamp mat by bending the mat to
release the panel.  I set that aside to dry.  I took a scrap of pink card stock that
was a very good match to the pink on the panel.  Using a palette knife I
applied Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze to this piece.

I let this dry and then die cut my sentiment from it using the
Christopher's Sentiments Die Set.  I die cut the shadow piece using
a piece of gold shimmer vellum.

I adhered the 2 together to form my sentiment.  I made an A2 size card
base from the Buttercream card stock and then but a green card stock
panel to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  I tied a pink silk ribbon around the left side
of the stenciled panel.

I adhered the green panel to the card base and then the stenciled panel
popped up on foam tape.  I adhered my sentiment down.  I took the
Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze and with a Q-tip went over the sentiment again
and I went along the edges of the bow.  I also took a toothpick and
made tiny dots between the flowers on the panel.  Once all that was
dry my card was finished!

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial.  I love using new products and finding
new ways to use the products I have!  You can find what I have used at
