Pansy Hugs ft. Kate Hadfield Designs

 Hello everyone!

Pansies are amongst my favorite flowers so I knew I

want to make a card project with them.  I have used products from

Kate Hadfield Designs

Signs of Spring digital stamp set

This set has so many elements to choose from!  Let me show you how

I made my purple pansycard.

I have to tell you this card started out with a lot more ambition. I

was going to make a wreath with all of the flowers and it looked so

daunting I had to pare it down.  So I printed out 10 pansies.  I

did flip them and the top row is a bit smaller than the bottom row.

I started my coloring with the leaves.  I knew they would all be

the same so I wanted to choose those colors first.

I started coloring the flowers and as you can see I didn’t like the

first one, I did like the second one better but I didn’t use it.

As you can see I eventually went with a much lighter and simpler blend

on the flowers.  I also added thin black lines to the center of the flowers with a

black fine liner pen.  After they were colored I

fussy cut them and went around the edges with a black marker.

I actually cut the flowers off the stems and made most of the

stems shorter so I could tuck them in.  I made a lavender

card base and tore a strip of purple gingham paper which

revealed the white core and I really liked that.  I adhered a

kraft colored paper doily on the left side and let it go off the

edge a bit.  I stamped it with a sentiment from my stash.  I die cut

a small doily from white card stock as a base for the flowers/leaves.

I foam taped the flowers on first.  Then I adhered the leaves/stems flat

on the surface.  I used tiny gold flat back beads as the embellishment.

I used Stickles on the centers of the pansies.  I also found an enamel heart

that matched perfectly.  If you didn’t have one, you could die cut one that matches

and cover it with Glossy Accents.  After that, my project was done!

You could use any flowers from the stamp set…they are all so pretty.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s tutorial.  If you give this a try, please tag
