Also Edgy Digital Paper
Let me show you how I created my card.
I composed my elements in the computer. I made the background
using the Also Edgy digital paper set. I was able to
change the color and change the texture – I use Word for a
program…an older version. I also used one of the hat stamps
for the background and changed the outline color to a light grey.
I die cut my image using a fancy label die.
For the coloring I wanted to use blue as my main color and along with
gold it looks really nice.
Once I had chosen all the markers I set to work coloring.
This really colored up quickly. I did color the hats in the background
with the palest shade of blue. After the coloring was finished I used a
gold glitter gel pan and colored the knots on the tassels of the
background hats, the bow pieces of the glasses, the collar on the gown, the
whole tassel on the blue hat and I filled in the lettering. I also used it some on
a few of the book bindings. I used a black fine liner pen to make some texture in the eyes and then applied shimmer to them
filled in the glasses with Glossy Accents. I adhered blue gems. I used a piece of
pearl blue card stock for the background and notched off the corners with
a circle punch. I outlined the lettering with a blue fineliner as the outline
didn’t stand out as much as I would have liked. I edged the main panel
and the background panel with with a bronze ink pad (Lisa Horton). I
added star sequins to the corners of my cream colored card base and popped
up the main panel with foam tape. And that finished my card!
I hope you give this card a try. I’m sure any grad would love
it! If you do make one tag us on social media…we would love
