Hello everyone! Winter seems to finally be here and where I live,
it's COLD! So I used this adorable stamp set from
I only took 2 of the images from this collection. Let me show you
how I made my card! I started by composing and sizing my design.
This was so easy to do. Notice that I flipped my mittens on either
side of the hats.
It was at this point that I chose my paper from my
stash because what I used for paper would determine what
colors I chose to use. If I'm coloring with my Copic markers
like I did on this piece, I first match the cap of a marker
that looks like a match to the patterned paper and then I
do quick swatches on a piece of scrap paper. If it's a match
then I will choose whatever I need to make the image look
dimensional - whether it's a shade lighter or darker or both.
Basically I had 4 color groups that matched the 4 colors in the
papers: lavender, blue, pink and aqua. Normally I would tell
you what colors I used, but it's very specific to this paper. So
give yourself a try and see if you can match the colors to
your paper!
I fussy cut the image leaving a narrow white border around
my image. I adhered my 2 different papers, which I had used
a die to cut with, onto a top folding A2 size white card base.
I added a sentiment banner and small heart die to the top of my
card. This was ephemera that matched the paper. This really
needed some sparkle, sooo.....I used a shimmer pen on the tops
of the mittens and bands around the bottom of the hats. I used some
tiny iridescent gems to all parts of the design that had small
circles. And lastly, I used Twinkle Stickles to the pom poms of
the hats, the cuffs of the mittens and the heart ephemera.
And that completed my winter card!
I love making winter cards and using all the sparkle! 🌟🌟🌟
