Always in Style with Joy Clair Designs

Hello everyone!  Today I'm sharing a newly released digital stamp set from

Joy Clair Designs

Always in Style Digital Stamp Set

This is such a versatile digital stamp set to work with.  Let me show you how I made my card.

I used a piece of 90lb watercolor paper.  This is not an expensive paper and goes through my printer, as does regular card stock.  I get it on Amazon.  It's also not really white.  And although the packaging says it Cold Press, meaning it has some texture, it's pretty much smooth and looks ivory.  So the first thing I did was to size and print out my image.  I had really planned out this card so I was sure of the sizing.

Using a die, I cut this panel to 2 3/4" x 4".  I cut the bottom half of this paper off so that it measured 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" to use as my card base.  Then I cut a panel that was 4" x 5 1/4" and I used a an embossing folder from Taylored Expressions - Garden Party.  It has a border with a blank space in the middle.  My die cut printed panel fits perfectly in this blank space.

Next I need to paint my image.  I used Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers for this.  Since this is inexpensive paper, I really used caution when painting as inexpensive paper usually cannot stand up to a lot of water and color.  I scribbled the marker onto my glass mat, then picked up color with a damp paintbrush.  I did not use the marker directly onto the paper.  I painted the flowers first using a red (which looks pink) and orange, so when the 2 mix a bit on the paper it makes a pretty coral color.  I did not mix the two color together on my mat.

I painted every other petal so I would not have 2 wet petals beside each other at the same time.  This cuts down on paint bleeding.  Once I finished the flowers, I moved onto the leaves.  I used yellow/green, light lime green, medium green, dark green, blue and purple.  Using this many colors isn't necessary but it really makes the leaves lively.  I tried not to go overboard with the different colors so the overall effect was green.

I next cut a piece of double-sided adhesive foam to the back of this panel.  I prepared my card base and adhered the embossed piece flat to it.

I next adhered the painted panel to the middle of this.

I thought about using a sentiment on this card and decided against it as I could use this for so many occasions!  I decided to only add a few small white pearls.

I hope you are enjoying the latest release of digital stamps.  They are so beautiful and full of spring images!  Find this set and more at
