Ellie's Snowman with Whimsy Stamps

 

Hello everyone!  I'm so excited to bring this cute winter easel card

that I created using products from

Whimsy Stamps

Ellie's Snowman Digital Stamp

These digistamps featuring Ellie from the very talented Crissy Armstrong are

just so adorable!  I had a blast making this easy card!

I first, as always, composed my image in the computer.  My font came from

www.dafont.com.  The name of the font is "Chocolate".  I printed this out

onto Neenah 80lb. Classic Crest Solar White card stock.

I drew in some guide lines.  One across the bottom that would still allow

me to die cut the sentiment and then I used a circle die to see where that

placement would be.

I cut the line across the top of the sentiment and then decided to die cut

my main image with the  3 3/4" circle die.  This left a bit on the bottom

cut off, but that would be hidden.

I made my A2 size white top folding card base out of plain white

card stock.  I scored the front panel at 2 3/4".

Next I cut 2 piece of the left over white card stock to make snow

drifts for the front of the image.  I just cut these by hand.

I next covered the front of my A2 size card with patterned paper.  I cut

a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of patterned paper and cut it in half.  I adhered the

pieces so one edge was right up against the fold in the middle of the

front of the card.

Before I starting my coloring I checked once again to make sure

I had all of my parts and they were the correct size!!!

The coloring is fairly simple.  I used shades of blue that matched the

background paper.

I took my time coloring making sure that my colors were

well blended.

For the white parts, I used my palest shade of blue, just to

give an indication of shadows.

I also used that palest blue shade for underneath Ellie and her snowman,

for a bit of shading just above the snowlike and around the edges of

the circle.

Copic colors used:  B0000, B41, B45, B97, RV000, RV10, RV02, E33, 

YR02, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, 0 and 100

I used the palest blue - B0000 - to color in a shadow on the tallest snow

bank but visible just about the line of the smaller snow bank.

I also added some of that same blue marker on the end of the

sentiment banner to make it stand out a bit more.

I added a strip of left over blue background paper to the

inside of the card.  It's 1 1/4" x 4 1/4".  I adhered it flat

to the inside and the edged it with iridescent peel-offs. I

adhered the sentiment banner with foam tape just above it.

I marked out where I wanted the main image to sit on the front of

the card and adhered just the bottom half of the image to the bottom

half of the card.  Both snow banks were adhered flat as well.  With

the sentiment on the inside, there was enough bulk to I didn't want

to add any more.  I used Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze and a pointy

Q-tip (have you tried these? They are fabulous!) and applied it

around the edge of the circle, Ellie's hat and a bit on the snowman.

I also used it on the edges of the snow banks.

Finally I could embellish my card! I have an embellishment pack with

snowflake sequins and gems...so pretty and sparkly!  The website

has a nice assortment of these!  And that finished my card!
