Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing inspiration from
I love this stamp set. Hands down, it has to be my favorite. I
love the sentiments and I love the floral image. Let me show you
how I made my mini slimline card.
I composed my images around the sentiment and sized them for
a mini slimline card. I printed the image out onto 90lb. watercolor
paper* (B00ED3LEBE). This prints really well in my ink jet printer.
I had already decided on my color palette - violet and warm gray. To
give my images color I used 2 shades of Distress Ink to watercolor with.
For the warm gray, which I painted my leaves with, I used
Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I smooshed a bit onto my glass
work mat and then watercolored with it.
For the blossoms I used Seedless Preserves. For shading I used
a more concentrated application of the ink. The first application,
which is sort of like an all over base coat, I went fairly light.
I love how well these two colors play off each other. I painted the
other image exactly the same way.
I splattered this lightly with Payne's Gray watercolor. Although
this looks like a fairly dark color in the pan, it really dries back, so
it gave a much softer gray effect here. Next I needed to paint
the centers of the blossoms.
I decided to use a gold paint from one of my Iuile Watercolor Dot
Cards. I used the Golden Buddha shade. I had already cut my
panel to 2 3/4" x 6". I made a white card base that measures
3" x 6 1/4" when folded. I covered the front of the base with
Plum card stock from Hero Arts. It's my favorite plum card stock!
I decided not to add anything else to my card. I think the touches
of gold in the centers of the blossoms was enough. I adhered my
painted panel to the base and that finished my card!
I hope you enjoyed today's project. You can find this digistamp set
