Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you more inspiration from
the February Release of
This is a lovely set to make those cards that we all need from time to time. I love
the variety of sentiments in this set. I had an idea for my card and that was to
print it out onto colored card stock and color the lilies with colored pencils. So,
I composed my design and printed it out onto to gray card stock that had a
hint of purple in it.
I started coloring and it went quickly down hill from there! 😟. So,
onto plan B! I still wanted to use the gray background, so I decided to print
the design out onto Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White card stock and
then cut it out after coloring it with my Copics.
I kept the coloring very simple since this was a relatively simple
design with no extra lines of drawing or shading.
Copic markers used:
BV0000, V000, YG02, YG11, G07
Instead of trimming out the enclosed spaces between the flowers,
I chose to print the design again on the gray card stock by flipping it
the other way in my printer. Then I cut from that the inner spaces that
I need to fill in to cover the white.
Before adhering those bits in place, I used a black water-based marker to
go around the edges of the gray pieces. I cut out the entire image and used
the black marker again around the edges.
I made an A2 size side folding card base out of white card stock. I covered
the front of it with a patterned paper that was white with lavender splatter.
It is from Lawn Fawn "Spiffy Speckles". I cut a black layer that was
3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and my main panel measures 3 3/4" x 5". I adhered all
3 layers onto the card base. Around the main panel I used peel-offs from
Love From Lizi. They were white edged with silver. Then, using 1/4"
sheer white ribbon I tied a knot and adhered it under the lilies and above
the sentiment and my card was done!
This is really a lovely set and could be used for many occasions. I hope
