Peony Rose with Rachel Vass Designs

Hello everyone!  I'm sharing another fabulous design from

To begin I chose my background paper.  This was another sheet from
Flutter-by Butterflies by The Paper Boutique.

I printed the image onto putty colored card stock from my stash.
It went well with the lighter images in the paper.  The butterfly design
in the paper was grey with a blue tint.  I then cut it with a 3 3/4" circle die.
I first colored the image with PrismaColor colored pencils.  I colored
the flowers in Slate Grey #936, the leaves and stems in Jade Green #1021
and the vase in Grey Green Light #289.  Then I used Gambol to blend
the color.  I didn't do any shading.  I really didn't like how it was looking.  Because
I printed it on card stock there was some texture and I couldn't get the color
laid down as evenly as I wanted.  So, I glazed the flowers and the leaves with
Copic markers:  C-1 on the flowers and BG93 on the leaves.

I thought the glazing with the markers worked well here as Copics are transparent so
you could still see that I colored the image with colored pencil.  I had printed the
sentiment out as well and cut it out to 3/4" x 1 3/4".  I adhered both the flower image
and the sentiment flat to my card and cut off about 1/4" off the right side of the
die cut circle.  I added some silver peel-offs from Love From Lizi on the
sentiment strip and then added a  few enamel dots and this was done.

I really love the almost monochrome effect this card has.  I don't always find this
an easy way to go because I love color.  And although there is quite a bit going on
in this card, it has a very neutral calming vibe to it.
