In flower language poppies are for remembrance. Autumn is a good
time to look back on how the last year has been for us.
Maybe we had some really memorable times...or maybe we remember
those we perhaps lost. Let me show you how I made my card!
The image of the poppies was already to print and go. I simply sized it to
what I needed to fit inside my arched frame. When I printed out the poppy
image I also printed out a tan piece of paper that was included in the
Blooming Lovely Bundle. My red plaid paper comes from my stash.
I did all of my die cutting before coloring the poppy image. The
poppy image fits perfectly into the space created by the dies. I
also used an A2 rectangle die for the red plaid.
With only 2 main colors on my image, these colored up very
quickly! Copic colors used: G12, G21, G85, G28, C5, C7,
R02, R05, R14, R17 R59, RV69
I colored the 3 poppies in the foreground just a bit lighter than
the other ones.
I used a pre-printed sentiment strip from my stash an backed it with the
red plaid paper.
All of my components were now ready. I used a rectangle cutting die on
the red plaid paper which I adhered to a Kraft colored A2 size top
folding card base. I adhered my tan frame on. I adhered it flat to the
surface, but you could certainly pop it up on foam. Then I added my
colored panel flat. I decided to snip off the red plaid paper from the
sentiment...it looked better without it. I adhered the sentiment down
flat and I added some olive green confetti around the leaves...and that
finished my beautiful poppy card!
I hope I've given you some inspiration for your own poppy card!
