Today I'm sharing this fun new stamp set from
This stamp set is so adorable and I just had to make a slim line card using it!
There is so much room on a slim line card that I used quite a few elements from
this big stamp set!
I started by stamping out all of my elements with alcohol marker friendly ink. Next
I decided to make my background. I did this cutting a piece of hot press watercolor paper
measuring 3 3/8" x 8 1/2" and taping it to my surface covering 1/8" all the way around
I used a 1" brush and went back and forth horizontally using Periwinkle at
the top, blending in Delphinium and blending that into Blueberry. Once I felt
just a hint of resistence, I stopped and let it dry completely. Then I did a
second coat over the first. I set this aside to dry.
Next I colored all of my stamped images with Copic markers.
Copic colors used:
Sand Castle: E51, E50, E31, E33
Puffer Fish: Y02, Y15, Y35, Y38, E53
Mermaid Skin: E21, E31, E33, R11
Pink Hair: RV02, RV34, RV04, RV06, RV17
Purple Outfit: V01, V04, V05, V09, V17
Blue Hair: B60, B63, B66
Turquoise Outfit: BG11, BG53, BG19
Stars: Y15
Sentiment: B21
I fussy cut all of my elements out leaving a narrow white border except for the
sentiment which had no white boarder. I trimmed mybackground piece that
had dried very flat and adhered it onto a 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" side
folding slim line card. I made some bubbles by taking a damp brush and making dots of various sizes on my background. I foam taped all of my elements onto the card. I applied
crystal glaze to the eyes of one mermaid and the puffer fish and let those dry.
Then I went in with a white gel pen and and added white dots to the mermaids' hair,
outfits, jewelry, the puffer fish, eyes on the mermaid, black fish and sea horse, and on the
sentiment. Then I added sequins, pearls, dewdrops, and gems.
And that finished my project!
This was so much fun to create and color! And there were more elements to the
stamp set that I didn't use.
