A Sweet Fall Sampler

I hope you've all had a wonderful week and that you were able to score some amazing deals on World Card Making Day.  Everyone was having sales!

Today I'm sharing a Topflight Stamps Design Team project.  An adorable Fall Sampler that's perfect for many occasions.

I used a rubber stamp by Magenta:

Such sweet fall images and I colored them all with Copics.  I'll list the colors I used at the end of this post.  

I started by stamping the image on Neenah Cassic Crest Solar White 80lb. card stock.  My panel was about 5" x 5".  I used Memento Rich Cocoa Ink and my MISTI.  I did ink it more than once.  Then I colored the various images using fall tones for my marker colors.  I did not color the background of the squares or the edging around the whole stamp at this point.

I picked out my background paper next.  Sometimes I color my image first and then pick out my background paper and other times I am inspired by the paper and color my images to match!  I chose paper from Photoplay Mad 4 Plaid Fall.

This background paper gave me direction not only for the backgrounds on the squares but for the edges as well.  The background paper had a bit of plum color in it so I went with a pale soft blue that had a fair amount of red in it.  For the edges, I tried to choose a color that would look similar to the background of the paper.  I ended up glazing one color over another to get the look I wanted.

My card base was 5 x 5", my patterned paper measured 4.75" x 4.75" and the stamped panel I cut so that there was 1/8" all the way around - after I cut it I went around the cut edge with a black brush marker (not a Copic).  Although you can hardly see it, it does give that panel definition.

I glued all my panels together.  Then I added some tiny gold leaf sequins and liberally scattered Nuvo Crystal Drops in Auburn Pearl.  And that completed my card!

Apple Basket: E31, E33, E35, E37

Apples:  R14, R17, R37, R59

Pumpkin & Apple Leaves: YG03, G14, G17

Backgrounds within the Squares:  B60

Edges:  Y35 glaze with E21
