Let's Watch the Leaves ft. Kate Hadfield Designs

Hello everyone!  Fall is barely hanging on as temperatures start to

drop.  Still time to make fall cards, though!  Today I'll be showing you

how to make this cute card project using products from

Kate Hadfield Designs

 Fantabulous Fall stamp set

 Animal Pals –Foxes stamp set

This is what I call an  “off the edge” card.  I don’t think I’ve ever made one of

these types of cards, although the technique has been around for a while.

Let me show you how I made it!

Since I needed to fold the card on the left side, I had to be careful as

to where my elements were placed on the card.  I placed them horizontally

at the bottom.  This insured that I would have enough room to

to actually cut off part of my card and it would be positioned correctly

on the front.

I did choose my background paper before starting to color.  I decided

to use my Prisma Color Pencils so that no color could bleed through

like Copics would cause and because I hadn’t made a card using

them in a while!  I used light layers to gradually build up my color.

You can see my pencil line as to where I would cut the card.  I just used

scissors to trim this out and around the fox and squirrel I used a

black marker after the cutting was done.

I cut a strip of the plaid

paper that was 1 ¾” wide and used a scalloped edge die on

the left side for the inside of my card.  I stamped a sentiment that

I had in my stash and then adhered tiny leaf sequins around

my image.  I also used a white gel pen for a few highlights.  And

that finished my card project!

I hope you’ll give this card a try.  You could use so many

different images for all kinds of occasions!  You can find the stamp

sets that I used and so many more at

We're All In This...ft. Kate Hadfield Designs

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing this encouraging card that

all of us could use given the times we live in.  Today I'll be using

                                         products from

                           Kate Hadfield Designs

                                      Animal Pals – Lions

                                      Animal Pals - Bears

                                      Walk In The Woods

                                        Fantabulous Fall

                                                Nativity

This was such a fun project to put together.  It wasn't difficult and the

overall affect is so positive.  Let me show you how I made my card!

I composed my images so that together they formed one image.  I had

planned on fussy cutting this out so this made it very easy.

I started my coloring with the lion and the frog.  The lion is the biggest

Image so I wanted to color that first.  Then I colored the frog.  I did decide

to add a small puddle of water under the frog to help him stand out a bit

more and then I also used that same blue marker in the fish.

I finished the coloring and fussy cut the image.  Then I went around

the edges with a black marker.

Then I went to my stash to find background paper.  The paper I found was

unexpected, but I thought it went really well with the vibe of the card.

I used a center-step card base for this project.  I used 2 different papers

from the same paper pad for continuity.  I also die cut my sentiment.

I decided to leave it white instead of coloring it to help it stand out.

I foam taped the image onto my card base.  I added Glossy Accents to

the acorn, noses of the bear, lamb and lion, the hoofs of the lamb,

the eyes of the frog and his dots and the fish. I added white gel pen high-lights to

these places as well.  Just to give definition to the ground that the

animals were standing on I used some fake “grass”…I think this may be

like Flower Soft, but I’m not sure.  I’ve had it forever and the name of

it is “Grass In A Jar”.  It’s from a company that is no longer in

business.  But I thought it looked great under the animals.  I

stuck it onto the card using Glossy Accents as glue.  The sentiment is

also popped up on foam tape.  And that finished my project!

This card was easy to make and I think it would be a great

encouragement card for a friend!  You can find these great

BBQ ft. Kate Hadfield Designs

Hello everyone!  Betsy here sharing with you this wonderful and

very fun BBQ invitation using products from

Kate Hadfield Designs

Al Fresco Digital Stamp Set

I put mine on a card base, but you could just adhere a white panel

instead of a regular card!  Let me show you how I made

this project!

First I printed out all of my images onto white card stock.  I knew I

wanted to use a postage collage die and stencil for this project.

I spent a fair amount of time spent sizing my images.  Some of

the elements were easy, where others, particularly the ones where I

used more than one image, were a bit more time-consuming.  All images

would have to be sized to fit into the space.  I die cut the postage collage using

white card stock.  Then I printed this sheet out and edited the size more than once,

every time printing it out onto copy paper.  Then when they were all sized the

way I wanted, I printed them out onto white card stock.

As I was choosing my background paper, I came across paper that was

brightly colored and included a wood grain print.  When I saw the brown I knew

I wanted the “BBQ” to be printed on that.  So I taped a piece of the patterned

paper to a copy paper version of what I printed on card stock and ran it

through my printer.

I chose a red gingham patterned paper for the postage collage die to

sit on.  I really wanted to incorporate bright colors and this red really

speaks to me of backyard BBQ’s.

Once the letters were printed I used a few Copic markers to define them.

I then began the coloring.  Although there is a fair bit of coloring on these

images, they are small so they really didn’t take that long.  I started with

the burger and the hot dog.  If you are wondering why I colored the hot dog

red, it’s because those are the ones my family loves.  They snap when you bite

into them because of the red casing…so yummy!

The salad and corn-on-the-cob were next.  I introduced blue to the mix of

colors by coloring the bowl with the BG family of colors.  I knew I wanted to

use Salvaged Patina Distress Ink for the stencil in each of the sections.  The

BG family of colors matches this really well.

These were the last of the images to color.  I added touches of red to match the

red gingham of the background paper.

I stenciled each section about 2/3’s of the way up.  I have to say in this photo

the Salvaged Patina Distress Ink looks really blotchy.  But, as with all dye based

inks, this evened out and thankfully became a lot softer looking when it dried.

I fussy cut all the elements leaving a very narrow white border.  I stamped “YOU’RE

INVITED” with a stamp from my stash.  I adhered each of the elements in their

respective sections using foam tape.  I used Glossy Accents on the butter on the corn, the

cheese on the burger, the barbeque grill, the mustard on the hot dog and the ice

in the glass of lemonade.  I used Stickles on the lemon slice, the paper lanterns,

the tomatoes in the salad, and the seeds on the burger bun.  I used a shimmer pen

on the BBQ letters, and the salad utensils.  And that finished my invitation!

This little invitation was so much fun to make!  You can find the
