Brutus Monroe & Waffle Flower Instagram Hop

Welcome to the Brutus Monroe & Waffle Flower Collab!
Waffle Flower is introducing several new products and we've paired
those with some of our favorite Brutus Monroe Products!

Waffle Flower has introduced their new Stencil Mat and
Blending Brushes!  You will see those in action in this post as
I showcase them with Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments, Embossing Powder
and Conversation Clippings.

For my stencil I chose to use Spread Your Wings from Waffle Flower.  I
also used the coordinating stamp set - Spread Your Wings.  I am
using Aqua Pigments to stencil with - yes - liquid watercolor to stencil with!
Let me show you how well that works!

I cut a piece of 6" x 6" heavy white card stock - mine was 120lb.  I
set my card stock on the Stencil Mat and taped the stencil down with
Purple Tape.  The mat keeps the card stock secure and it doesn't move.
And the Blender Brushes are a dream to work with!  I would never have
guessed that you could get such a smooth blend of color stenciling with
Aqua Pigments!

I was so pleased with how these blended!  And everything stayed secure
on the Stencil Mat.  This went so well I decided to use a stencil for my
background as well.  I used the Sunburst Stencil and used the same colors
of Aqua Pigments to do my stenciling.  All colors are listed below.

Using the Rectangle Foundation Dies from Brutus Monroe I cut my
panel 3 3/4" x 5".

Next, with the coordinating stamp set - Spread Your Wings - I heat
embossed all the butterflies with Raven Sparkle Embossing Powder.

These came out so pretty and sparkly!  I fussy cut my butterflies
right up to the embossed lines.

There are matching dies but I don't have those.  I did not cut out the
antennae of the butterflies.  Next I took a sentiment from the Brutus Monroe
Conversation Clippings - Butterfly Wishes and die cut it with a
banner die from my stash.

Now it was time to assemble my card.  I started with a standard A2
size top folding white notecard.  I adhered the Sunburst panel to the card
base.  Next I added the sentiment which I popped up on foam tape.
I then attached 5 of my 6 butterflies.  I put adhesive on the centers of
the butterflies except the half butterfly which I popped up on foam
tape and is right next to the sentiment.  For just a touch of some added
bling and detail, I adhered black gems to all of the butterflies, adhering
the tiny ones in patterns.
