This is another gorgeous floral design from Rachel Vass Designs. Let me show you
how I made my card.
To begin, I sized my image and sentiment and printed it off onto copy paper. Next
I traced it onto Strathmore Bristol card stock with a pencil. To do this I use a light tablet that
I bought online for about $15. It works amazingly well for tracing images.
I used the Strathmore Bristol card stock because I wanted to color this image using
my Zig Clean Color Markers with water.
Next it was time to color.
Zig marker colors used:
Pale Rose, Deep Red, Ochre, Dark Oatmeal
For the petals I colored a bit of the Deep Red at the base and then applied the
Pale Rose about 1/3 of the way up the petal. Then I used a paintbrush and clean
water and blended it out. I did this for all of the petals, letting each one dry before
painting the one next to it. For the middles, I just added some dots of the
Ochre and Dark Oatmeal and then just dabbed my damp paintbrush to blend
them. It wanted to retain a mottled look.
Once the painting was dry, I used a gold metallic gel pen and outlined all of
the flowers and centers. I did not outline the little circles in the centers. Then I took
some Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls, added some water and splattered my card.
I cut my panel to 4" x 5 1/4". I adhered this to an A2 size top folding white
note card that was covered with gold card stock. I printed the image again onto white card
stock and cut out the center. I adhered this onto my card with foam tape. As a
last bit of embellishment I added Gold Stickles to the centers where the
little circles were. And that completed my project!
