Today I'll be sharing this seasonal favorite - ice cream! I'll be
using products from
We All Scream For Ice Cream stamp set
This was an easy card with big impact. I kept the background simple
to let the focal point stand out...it didn't start out that way but I
was very pleased with the end result. Let me show you how I
made my card.
I composed and sized my image on the computer and printed it out
onto white card stock. I also computer journaled a sentiment a bit
later, die cut it and backed it with colored coordinating card stock.
I started by coloring the waffle cone. I google imaged waffle cones
using Copic markers so I could get the colors right.
Next, I started on the bottom layers of ice cream. To give the ice cream
some texture, I did not color the whole scoop of ice cream. I colored
darker on the left and lighter to the right. I also used slightly curved
dashes to show texture and left a fair amount of white space.
After the coloring was done, I fussy cut the image leaving a narrow white
border. Next I prepared my background.
I used a polka dot embossing folder and card stock that matched the 3 colors
of the ice cream. I cut the colored card stock into ½” strips and adhered them
diagonally on the top left and bottom right corners before embossing. I adhered
that panel and to the White panel I had already trimmed out and then adhered
that to an A2 size white card base. Then, I used the embossing folder for texture.
I adhered clay sprinkles to my ice cream with Glossy Accents and I did a small
amount of green metallic splatter. I added more glossy accents to the ice cream
to make it look wet. I popped up the ice cream cone with foam tape as well as
the left side of the sentiment which I used liquid glue to adhere it to
the cone where it overlapped. And that finished my card!
