This is a stunning design with 5 sentiment choices. Let me show you how
I created my project.
I had in mind to do a no-line watercolor design. I used some card stock that
I picked up at a local office supply store. It's a natural white with flecks of
different colors embedded into the paper. I made my image bigger than an A2 size card.
I wanted it to go off the page. I printed the no-line version.
I wanted to use watercolor pencils for this because I could achieve quite a depth
of color with minimal water. I started coloring the leaves that were filled in. I
decided to use my Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils.
I colored on both the lighter and darker shades before applying any water. I did
this for the entire image. For me it seems to make blending the color a bit easier.
Faber-Castel Watercolor Pencil colors used:
Solid Leaves: 168, 278
Stems: 167, 278
Lighter Green Leaves: 170, 171
Blue Flowers: 146, 120, 247 Centers: 107, 109, 115
Pink Rose: 132, 130, 124, 193, 194
I used a #2 and a #4 round paintbrush
Like I said at the beginning, I was planning on a no-line watercolor look. But
after I was done with the painting I just didn't like it. So I outlined everything
with a waterproof fine point black marker. I liked it a lot better. I kept the line
weight rather thick - thicker than I normally would, but this image was designed
with broader lines so I felt it worked well.
I printed my sentiment on the green card stock that I also used for the card base
which was A2 size top folding. I cut my colored image panel to 4" x 5 1/4"
and backed it with black card stock so just a narrow bit of that showed. I also
backed my sentiment which I cut into a strip and fish-tailed one end. After
everything was adhered flat, my project was done!
